Job Title: Allied Health Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Allied Health Assistant to join our team, specialising in providing person-centered care and support to both ageing and disability clients. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the lives of individuals with a range of physical, intellectual, or sensory impairments, as well as elderly individuals requiring specialised care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Individualised Care Plans: Implement individual care/treatment plans in collaboration with the client, their family or significant others and treating allied health professional.

  2. Personal Care Assistance: Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to clients with daily living tasks, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.

  3. Mobility Support: Offer comprehensive support to clients with mobility needs, ensuring their safety and comfort.

  4. Health Management: Assist clients in managing their medications, health-related needs, and coordinating medical appointments as required.

  5. Emotional Support and Social Interaction: Provide emotional support and encourage social engagement, facilitating participation in community activities and events.

  6. Behavior Management: Utilise positive behavior strategies to support clients with complex behaviors, fostering a nurturing and empowering environment.

  7. Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess clients' progress and communicate updates to families and other relevant parties.

  8. Health and Well-being Assessment: Conduct health assessments and identify potential risks or changes in clients' health conditions.

  9. Documentation and Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Education to Certificate III in Allied Health.

  2. Experience: Prior experience in working with both ageing and disability clients is highly desirable.

  3. Administrative ,Microsoft Office and CMS skills.

  4. NDIS Worker Check

  5. Working with Children Check

  6. National Police Check

  7. Current First Aid Qualification

  8. Drivers Licence with your own Comprehensively Insured Car

  9. Fully vaccinated against Covid 19

 

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.

  2. Compassionate Care: Demonstrated understanding and dedication to providing respectful and dignified care to ageing and disability clients.

  3. Behavioural Management Experience: Ability to effectively manage complex behaviours and situations, using initiative to resolve issues or seek assistance when necessary.

  4. Empathy and Sensitivity: A caring and empathetic approach to support clients' emotional and psychological well-being.

  5. Adaptability: Capacity to work flexibly to meet the varying needs of ageing and disability clients.

  6. Teamwork Abilities: Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Work is typically performed in clients' homes and in the community.

  • The job may involve physical activity, such as assisting with mobility.

  • The position may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
