Aged Care Support Worker
As a Community Aged Care Worker, you will provide support and care services to elderly individuals living in their own homes. You will work as part of a team and be responsible for providing support to clients in a safe, respectful, and person-centred manner.
Job Title: Aged Care Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated aged care support worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing person-centred care and support to elderly clients in a residential aged care facility or in their own homes.
Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance to elderly clients with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation according to their individualised plan.

Support clients with mobility and transport needs, including accompanying them to appointments and social activities such as outdoor activities, a gentle stroll, taking someone to the movies once a week, or helping out in the garden.

Assist clients with managing medication and health-related needs.

Assistance with domestic duties and general help around the home.

Provide emotional support and social interaction to clients, including assisting them to participate in community activities and events.

Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or behaviour to the appropriate parties.

Communicate with families about clients' progress

Ensure all documentation and records are maintained accurately and in accordance with relevant legislation and policies.

Requirements

Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability, or Individual Support (or equivalent)

National Police Check
-
Immunisation History (2023 Flu and 3 x COVID doses)

Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Desirable Criteria

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own.

Understanding of the needs and rights of elderly people.

Ability to provide personal care and assistance in a respectful and dignified manner.

Completion of Module HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication (or commitment to obtain)

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Working Conditions:

Work is typically performed in clients' homes or in aged care facilities.

Work may involve physical activity, such as domestic assistance tasks, showering and bathing clients and assisting with mobility.
